The project demonstrates Solmatix’s capability to combine large-scale solar generation and battery storage for a major public leisure facility, supporting Manchester City Council’s wider sustainability objectives.
Additional Information
The installation combines on-site renewable electricity generation with battery storage in a single integrated energy solution. This allows the facility to make more effective use of the electricity generated by the solar PV array and adds greater flexibility to its energy infrastructure.
Delivering the system for a high-profile public leisure venue required close coordination across design, installation and commissioning. The solar PV element is estimated to avoid approximately 50,649kg CO2e each year, subject to generation, weather and on-site energy use.
